Pakistan Dental Graduates are invited to compete for upto 100% fully funded scholarships in UK

“BIRMINGHAM, UK: UK dentists are urged to alert family and friends in Pakistan about the opportunity. Dentists who have qualified in Pakistan have a unique opportunity to secure a scholarship of up to 100% funding towards their tuition fees to study for a Master’s in Advanced General Dental Practice (AGDP)—the 12-month program that intensively prepares overseas-qualified dentists for the UK Overseas Registration Exam and provides support for entering employment as a registered dentist”.

The famous College of Medicine and Dentistry (CoMD), the top independent dental college in the UK, is providing scholarships. The fifty top-performing students will be asked to compete for scholarships worth at least 50%, including two x 100% tuition fee scholarships, while the 150 dental graduates with the greatest scores on CoMD’s online MCQ exam will each get a 30% tuition fee scholarship.

TEST for the Scholarship

Starting the competitive evaluation for sponsorship will be a safe, two-hour online MCQ test that may be performed between June 9 and June 20. The most qualified candidates will then be called for a viva voce (oral) test, an MSA exam, and a practical assessment on a phantom head. The practical evaluations for the September 2023 admission, will be placed in Dubai for Pakistani students.

The scholarships are awarded to dentists with the highest academic standing who satisfy CoMD’s eligibility requirements, which include:

• An upper-second- or first-class BDS (dentistry transcript)
• A first-class or higher on CoMD’s online test, with the top 150 test takers being eligible for the 30% scholarship.
• Excellent performance in the interview for the program.
• In addition to helping to support the £37,500, 12-month AGDP Master’s, the CoMD’s new scholarship scheme provides international dentists with a special chance to achieve a high-earning position.
• With a five-day workweek and depending on whether they work exclusively for the National Health Service (NHS) or a combination of the NHS and private practise, newly registered dentists can expect to earn between £36,000 and £50,000 in year one and between £70,000 and £100,000 in year two due to the acute shortage of UK registered dentists.

“There is a shortage of dentists in the UK, and CoMD wants to assist the top-performing BDS graduates in securing crucial financial support towards the costs of postgraduate study, which heavily emphasizes success on the UK registration exam,” says Professor Almasri, CEO and Dean of the College of Medicine and Dentistry. Not only do our scholarships benefit students studying in UK, they are also a key route towards securing a lucrative job in the UK when they graduate.

In 2019, Dr. Mohammad Habta earned his dental degree in Belarus before beginning his career in his home Lebanon. He moved to the UK last year and finished the CoMD’s MSc programme in Advanced General Dental Practise. “The beauty of this course is that it’s taught me clinical skills and competency while also giving me lots of exposure to UK dentistry,” he added.
