Bachelor’s degree holders can only stay in France after their studies, provided they have a valid work permit. Students pursuing master’s degrees in France can apply for a 24-month temporary residence permit called APS (Autorisation Provisioire de Séjour). Students with a master’s, PhD, or post-graduate degree from one of France’s universities can obtain a two-year extended Schengen visa.

Suppose a student can find work that pays more than 1.5 times the minimum wage guarantee. In that case, they can apply for a Work Permit, which is the critical condition for obtaining a European Union Blue Card (permanent residence).



Types of Student Visas in France with Relevant Job

This visa is appropriate for short-term study programs of less than 90 days, such as language classes, exchange programs, or summer schools.

This visa holder is only permitted to work in France during their stay.

Long-stay Student Visa (Visa de Long Séjour pour Études):

This form of visa, sometimes a student visa, is intended for students who plan to study in France for over 90 days.

Holders of this visa may be eligible to work part-time (up to 964 hours per year) to supplement their income.
