OIETC - Oxford International English Test Center
The OIETC is the abbreviation of Oxford International English Test center. The OIETC is an examination body that provides the English Language Level Test (ELLT).
The ELLT test is taken by students who are willing to pursue their higher education abroad or want to step into the professional life in a country outside of Pakistan.
The ELLT test consists of 4 separate portions that are designed to test different English language skills of the candidate. Each section consists of different tasks that are to be completed in a specified time period and are later assessed through AI (artificial intelligence) software.
WHAT IS ELLT?
The ELLT is an English language test that is considered to be a great alternative to IELTS. Usually, the IELTS exams are held in exam centers where physical presence of the candidate is mandatory.
On the other hand, the ELLT test is conducted completely online and is recognized by several universities as legitimate proof of English language skills.
The test can be taken remotely at any place, be it your home, school, office, or even a cafeteria! The flexibility makes the ELLT test a great choice for students who cannot travel to examination centers or are living in areas where there is no examination center nearby. All that is required is a computer and an internet connection.
CONTENTS OF ELLT TEST:
The ELLT test is divided into four sections. Each section comes with a specified time limit and different tasks. The sections are as follows:
- Reading Skills
The reading skills section is conducted 100% online and is proctored through highly advanced online proctoring systems to ensure 100% safety and fairness.
The reading test comes with the task of reading, understanding, and answering questions from 2 different texts provided. The time limit for this section is 40 minutes.
- Listening Skills
Secondly, the Listening section is a short one with only 20 minutes of tasks. The students are played 2 different audios and are tasked to extract answers from the audio using their memory.
- Writing skills
The writing skill is slightly different as this section is not proctored or checked through AI.
The students are given the task to write an opinion-styled essay and later, they are to submit the final written script directly to an appointed examiner. This task is limited to 60 minutes.
- Speaking skills
The speaking section is also conducted completely online through a video call with a live examiner.
The examiner presents three different stages to the candidate, and the candidate has to communicate with the examiner using spoken English language skills. This lasts for 15 minutes, and the whole session is recorded for review and assessment later.
One important detail to note is that the students can choose their own dates for the speaking component. This makes it convenient for students who are not very confident regarding their spoken skills and require a bit more practice.
FEES:
The Fee for the ELLT test by OIETC is set at 80 GBP/Pounds per student. The fee is to be paid online through debit/credit cards.
As soon as the fee is submitted, the students get access to their exams. However, this access is limited only to the Reading, writing, and listening section.
After this section is completed, the students can choose their desired date for the speaking section.
UNIVERSITIES THAT RECOGNIZE ELLT:
There are numerous universities that recognize the ELLT exam as proof of English language proficiency. These universities do not require IELTS and will consider the ELLT test as a legitimate alternative.

VALIDITY OF ELLT TEST:
The ELLT test has a validity of 18 months. From the date of your results, the exam would be valid to use as a proof of English language proficiency for 18 months. After the period of 18 months expires, students can give the exam once again.
