There is absolutely no difference in the exam content and paper pattern in IELTS UKVI. All of the content is the same as any other IELTS academic exam. However, the only major difference is that the exam is conducted in separately designated centers that are recognized by the UK home office.

TEST PATTERN:

The exam consists of 4 sections, each section aimed to assess the English language skills of the candidate. The 4 sections are:

• Writing
• Speaking
• Listening

Each section requires written answers, except for the speaking section. The duration of the IELTS exam and IELTS UKVI exam is 2:45 hours.

During this time, the candidates are provided question papers and answer sheets, where students are required to write paragraphs, and short essays, answer short questions, and MCQs, fill in the blanks, and listen to pre-recorded conversations and extract answers from them.

The writing, reading, and listening sections of the exam are held on the same day. However, the speaking part may be conducted before or after the first three sections.

Usually, the speaking test is held about a week after the writing, reading, and listening sections.

The candidates are required to speak for about 15 minutes in a face-to-face setting with a professional examiner and communicate in the English language, which is recorded and later assessed by trained examiners.
