According to the recent documentation from Bureau of Emigration, more than 765,000 Pakistani people left Pakistan in 2022, this is alarming as well as highest number of people leaving Pakistan in a year.

The data also shows that majority of the people leaving Pakistan are highly educated such as Doctor, Engineer, Information Technology Expert, Entrepreneurs, Accountants etc.

This number is triple as compared to the previous number in 2020 and 2021 which was approximately around 225,000 in 2021 and 288,000 in 2020.

Middle East Is the destination for Pakistani’s as reflected in the documents. The vast majority of emigrants moved to Middle Eastern countries, primarily Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). In case of Europe, Romania proved to be the most popular European destination among Pakistanis.

Over 730,000 emigrants travelled to the Gulf States alone, while nearly 40,000 went to Europe and other Asian countries, 470,000 Pakistanis went to Saudi Arabia for work, 119,000 to the UAE, 77,000 to Oman, 51,634 to Qatar, and 2,000 to Kuwait. according to the given data.

Punjab accounted for more than half of those fleeing the country. Nearly 424,000 emigrants are from Punjab alone, 206,000 from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, plus 38,000 from newly-merged tribal districts, 54,000 from Sindh, 27,000 from Azad Kashmir, 7,000 from Baluchistan, and 6,000 from Islamabad.
