Read Aloud

Once the recorder is turned on and you don’t say anything for more than three seconds, the recording will cease.

Repeat Sentence

You will hear a recording of this kind of query. You must comprehend it and speak the exact same words into the recorder. You will have 15 seconds to respond in this section. Make careful to state the details clearly and precisely.

Describe Image

Your speaking skills will be tested, although in a totally different way. With this question type, you have 25 seconds to comprehend an image and then describe it to the recorder. You have 40 seconds to respond to this question.

Re-tell Lecture

After hearing a lecture, you will need to retell it using your own words. The lecture audio may go up to 90 seconds, but you will only have 40 seconds to respond to the question. While the audio is playing, notes can be made.

Answer Short Questions

Section 2 – Reading

Multiple Choice

For this question type, you will read the passage and select from multiple options the correct answers. There will be more than one correct answer so you need to select them all.

Re-Order the text

Your objective will be to organize the many text boxes that will come on the screen in the proper order. You must read every box, comprehend the theme paragraph, and arrange the entire content such that the sequence is correct.

Fill in the blanks

You will get a passage with some missing words. Each fill-in-the-blank will have a drop-down list of options. On reading the passage you will choose the best option for each fill-in-the-blank.

Multiple choice with a single answer

You will read the passage and select from multiple options the correct answer. There will be only one correct answer.

Section 3 – Listening

Summarize Spoken Text

You will hear audio and will be able to take notes during that. Once the audio stops, you’d be required to write a summary of what you’ve heard within 50 to 70 words. The total time for this task will be 10 minutes.

Multiple Choice - Multiple Answers

You will hear a recording once and need to select the most appropriate answers from the list of options. There’s no time limit, so make notes and do it carefully. There will be multiple correct answers, so choose all of them.

Fill in the blanks

You will get a transcript of the audio with missing words. You will listen to the audio and fill in the blanks will correct answers. You will not hear the recording again however you can take notes while the recording is playing. There is no time limit.

Highlight the correct summary

Multiple summaries are given and your task is to choose the one which relates to the audio accurately.

Multiple Choice - Single Answer

You will hear a recording once and need to select the most appropriate answers from the list of options. There’s no time limit, so make notes and do it carefully.

Select Missing Word

A word or words from the audio will be replaced with the sound of a beep. You need to identify the best option to complete the sentence from the list of options given.

Select Incorrect Words

You will receive an audio transcript that omits the words. Because the transcript and the audio cover different ground in some areas, you will need to listen to the audio and fill in the blanks with the erroneous answers. Although you won’t hear the tape again, you can take notes while it is playing.

Write from Dictation

The recording will contain a statement, which you must then type in the response box.
