Three Fully Funded US Master’s Scholarships Open for 2027

International students seeking fully funded graduate study opportunities in the United States can currently apply for three Master’s-level scholarships offered by US universities. 

The opportunities cover tuition support, financial assistance and research experience, with applications closing on September 30, 2026.

The scholarships are available at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, University of North Texas and University of Vermont. The programs cover different research areas, including botany and environmental sciences, insect pollinator ecology and fisheries research. Funding varies by program, with financial support ranging from $4,500 per semester to $37,000 per year.

University of Tennessee Graduate Assistantship

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga is offering a funded Master’s assistantship related to botanical research and herbarium management. The selected student will work with the university’s herbarium collection, which contains more than 50,000 specimens.

The assistantship provides $4,500 per semester, along with a $4,806 maintenance and tuition fee waiver. Funding may continue for up to six academic semesters. Applicants are expected to have a relevant undergraduate degree, botanical study or experience, and a minimum GPA of 2.7.

University of North Texas MS Studentship

The University of North Texas is offering an MS studentship in Biological Sciences focused on understanding how ranch management affects insect pollinators, plants, soil microbes and habitat conditions.

Successful candidates can receive approximately $26,400 to $28,320 per year, along with tuition support and health-related assistance. 

Applicants should normally have a bachelor’s degree in biology, ecology, environmental science, entomology or another related discipline, with a minimum GPA of 3.0.

University of Vermont MSc Assistantship

The University of Vermont is offering an MSc assistantship in Human Dimensions of Fisheries. Research may involve fishing behaviour, fisheries management, stakeholder preferences, social networks and aquatic ecosystems, particularly around Lake Champlain.

This opportunity offers $37,000 per year, along with tuition support and living assistance. The program is expected to begin in January 2027, and applicants should have a relevant academic background and meet the university’s graduate admission requirements.

Students interested in these opportunities should prepare documents such as academic transcripts, degree certificates, a CV, statement or essay and recommendation letters. 

As the deadline for all three programs is September 30, 2026, applicants are advised to review the individual university requirements and submit complete applications before the closing date.
