Punjab University Announces Teaching Jobs for 2026, Apply Before November 30

The University of the Punjab (PU) has announced 23 teaching vacancies for 2026, offering employment opportunities to qualified Pakistani professionals in various academic disciplines. 

The positions are available at the university’s Institute of Education and Research (IER) in Lahore, with appointments ranging from Basic Pay Scale (BS-18) to BS-21.

According to the recruitment announcement, applications opened on September 14, 2026, and the last date to apply is November 30, 2026. Interested candidates must fulfill the Higher Education Commission (HEC) eligibility requirements.

Punjab University Jobs 2026: Available Positions

Punjab University is recruiting teaching staff across seven categories, with a total of 23 vacancies.

The available positions include five Professor of Education vacancies (BS-21), eight Associate Professor of Education vacancies (BS-20), and six Assistant Professor of Education vacancies (BS-19). All three categories require a PhD in Education from an HEC-recognized institution.

Additionally, the university has announced four Lecturer positions (BS-18), including one vacancy each in Business Education (Marketing), Technology Education, English Language Teaching and Linguistics, and Education. Applicants for these positions generally require relevant MS, MPhil, or equivalent qualifications following 18 years of education.

Eligibility Criteria for Punjab University Teaching Jobs

Candidates applying for Professor positions must possess a PhD in Education and at least 15 years of relevant teaching or research experience, or 10 years of post-PhD experience. They must also have 15 research publications in HEC-recognized journals, including five published within the last five years.

Associate Professor applicants need a PhD, along with 10 years of relevant experience or five years of post-PhD experience. Additionally, they must have at least 10 recognized research publications, including four from the previous five years.

For Assistant Professor positions, a PhD in Education is mandatory, while no specific teaching experience or research publications are required under the advertised criteria.

Lecturer applicants must meet their respective subject-specific qualifications and academic requirements.

Eligible applicants can submit their applications through the official Punjab University recruitment portal at https://jobs.pu.edu.pk/.

Candidates must complete the online application form and provide accurate academic and professional information.

After applying online, applicants must print two signed copies of their applications and send them through registered post to the Director, Institute of Education and Research, University of the Punjab, Quaid-i-Azam Campus, Lahore.

Professor and Associate Professor applicants must additionally provide a USB containing PDF copies of their applications and research publications.

Punjab University Jobs 2026 Application Deadline

The deadline for submitting applications is November 30, 2026. All required documents must reach the university before the deadline. Applications submitted by hand will not be accepted.
