Pakistan’s HEC Introduces Simplified Online Degree Attestation System

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has rolled out a fully online, paperless Degree Attestation System (DAS) designed to simplify the process of academic verification for students and graduates across the country.

The platform allows applicants to complete the entire attestation procedure online, eliminating the need for repeated visits to physical HEC offices.

This initiative is part of HEC’s broader digital transformation strategy to improve accessibility, reduce processing delays, and enhance the transparency of educational services nationwide.

Applicants can now manage the entire verification and attestation process from their computers or mobile devices at any time.

Digital Attestation System: What’s New?

Under the new framework:

  • Candidates can register and apply online via HEC’s e‑services portal.
  • Required academic documents and credentials can be uploaded digitally for review and evaluation.
  • The system supports secure online fee payment through platforms such as OneLink, removing the need to pay in person at banks or HEC counters.
  • Applicants receive SMS and email notifications on application status and outcomes and can download the completed e‑attestation certificate directly from their portal dashboard.

The online process replaces parts of the previous manual system that required applicants to deliver documents in person or via courier, which was often time‑consuming and costly.

Step-by-Step: How to Apply Online

  1. Create an Account – Start by registering on the official HEC e‑services portal with a valid CNIC number and email address.
  2. Complete Profile and Application – Provide personal information and detailed academic data accurately.
  3. Upload Documents – Scan and upload your degree, transcripts, CNIC copy, and any additional documents required.
  4. Pay Attestation Fee – Use the integrated OneLink payment option to pay fees online; verify the transaction in your portal.
  5. Submit and Track – Submit the application for verification and use the portal to track the status of your attestation request.

Upon successful verification by HEC and the relevant university, the attestation is issued electronically and can be downloaded directly from the applicant’s account.

  • Cost Savings: Lower travel and administrative costs for applicants.
  • Accessibility: Users anywhere in Pakistan can apply at any time.

The HEC’s online attestation platform marks a significant improvement in public service delivery, aligning with Pakistan’s broader shift toward e‑governance in the education sector.
