HEC Announces Scholarships in Top 100 US Universities for Pakistani Students

The Higher Education Commission of Pakistan has announced HEC scholarships in top 100 US universities for Pakistani and AJK nationals who want to pursue PhD studies in the United States.

The scholarships are offered under the US-Pakistan Knowledge Corridor Program and are available only for PhD programmes. Master’s, MS, and MS leading to PhD programmes are not covered.

Scholarship Categories

The HEC scholarships in top 100 US universities are divided into two categories.

Category I covers students admitted to top 50 QS-ranked US universities. Selected candidates may receive full tuition support, an annual stipend of USD 19,200, and health insurance support of USD 2,000 per year.

Category II covers students admitted to US universities ranked 51 to 100. Selected candidates may receive tuition support of up to USD 12,000 per year, an annual stipend of USD 19,200, and health insurance support of USD 2,000 per year.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be Pakistani or AJK nationals with at least 16 years of education, such as a four-year bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.

Candidates must also have admission to an eligible US university and a valid GRE General score of at least 300 or an HEC HAT score of at least 60 percent.

The age limit is 35 years for general applicants and 40 years for regular government employees, public sector university faculty, government college faculty, and researchers of approved R&D organizations.
