Punjab E-Bike Scheme 2026: Students Can Apply for 100,000 Subsidized Electric Bikes

The Punjab government has now started the registration process for the Punjab E-Bike Scheme 2026. Under this scheme, students from all over the Punjab province will get a chance to get electric motorcycles on a subsidised rate. 

The project was started by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to make the daily commute to schools, colleges and universities cheaper and easier.

The scheme was opened for applications on 5 September 2026. Students eligible for the scheme will be able to register online through the government’s dedicated electric bike portal. The scheme is applicable for students studying in government and private educational institutions in Punjab.

100,000 Electric Bikes to Be Distributed

Under the latest student transport initiative, the provincial government plans to provide 100,000 electric bikes. Students from more than 33,000 public and private schools, colleges, and universities are covered under the scheme, significantly expanding access to affordable personal transportation.

The electric bikes will be available in several colors. A pink option has also been designated for female students, supporting efforts to improve mobility and transport access for young women across the province.

E-Bike Price and Monthly Installments

Each electric bike has a listed total value of Rs. 199,000. However, students selected under the subsidized scheme will be required to pay Rs. 109,000.

To make the payment easier, this amount can be paid over a 36-month installment plan, with the monthly installment fixed at Rs. 3,028. The Punjab government will cover insurance, registration, and mark-up expenses, reducing the additional financial burden normally associated with vehicle financing.

This payment structure could make electric transportation more accessible to students who cannot afford to purchase a motorcycle through a single upfront payment.

Students interested in the CM Punjab E-Bike Scheme 2026 can submit applications through the official website at bikes.punjab.gov.pk. Applicants should enter the required information carefully and follow the registration instructions provided on the portal.

The scheme is intended to address transportation difficulties faced by students who regularly commute to educational institutions. Electric bikes may also provide lower everyday running costs compared with conventional petrol motorcycles.
